Its been sat ranked at number 1 of the paying apps in the iTunes appstore for quite a while now, so i finally decided to checkout DoodleJump.

DoodleJump is a very simple game, the aim is to make your character jump as high as possible by moving your way up the screen by bouncing upon platforms, wickedly simple but deviously addictive. Your character automatically bounces when it hits a platform and you can move him left or right by tilting your device side to side.

The game starts off simple with lots of platforms to jump onto but it quickly gets progressively more difficult, enemies appear that kill you if you jump into them (you can shoot them by tapping on the screen), platforms move and even disappear after you jump on them once, then the difficulty ramps up where you have to manoeuvre the onscreen platforms by moving them with your finger enabling the character to be able to reach them to jump on.

At any time if you go off the bottom of the screen or get hit by an enemy then its game over, which means that any slight lack of concentration will see what you thought was going to be an excellent run snuffed out in the blink of an eye, this makes it extremely satisfying when you do set a new record but also very frustrating when you make a tiny mistake and you have to start over again!

The 99c that the game costs is well worth the price as it will give you hours of amusement and frustration as you try and set new high scores and compare you scores and stats with everyone else on the global leader boards, click the button below to go into iTunes to purchase this fantastic game.
