Playstation Move capable of head and body tracking
A lot has been said of Microsoft’s Natal and its ability to track body and head movement, as well as recognise people (gender, age etc), videos and information has begun to surface that it may not be the only device capable of this.
Sony has stated that their new Playstation Move motion controller along with the Playstation Eye is able to recognise individuals based on mathematical measurements and distances based upon the persons eyes, nose and mouth positions. They are also able to determine the gender of the person and a rough age whereby they can distinguish between a child and an adult.
Sony has also demonstrated the ability of the device to track a players head and their body movements, you can see this in the video below, note how locked on it is and no matter how quick the movement it remains ‘locked’ on.
