Google announce Google TV

Google has today announced an online search tool that will not only search web video such as YouTube but also live Tv stations for the programs that you are looking for, Google has dubbed this service Google Tv. Google is teaming up with Sony for the first Google Tv enabled devices with more to be launched at a later date by Logitech and Dish with Best Buy promoting the platform in store. Google’s has not yet shared the hardware specs, but Google TV devices will have WiFi, HDMI, the Intel CE4100 processor, you will be able to use keyboards, remotes and even Android devices to control the Google Tv devices.

The Google Tv devices will run Android as the operating system, Chrome as the browser and will offer full Adobe Flash 10.1 support out of the box to enable the devices to access the myriad of content that is available on the web on the best possible screen, the Tv:

“video should be consumed on the biggest, best, and brightest screen in your house, and that’s the TV.”
